About Us

The Santa Barbara County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation is a nonprofit corporation organized in 2002 to offer financial relief for families of Santa Barbara County firefighters stricken in the line of duty, fund scholarships for children of firefighters stricken in the line of duty, create and maintain a firefighters memorial, and establish a means of receiving contributions from individuals and businesses that are interested in supporting the Foundation.

The Benevolent Foundation is organized and directed by a nine-member panel, four Officers and five members that serve on the Board of Directors. These nine individuals are sworn firefighters from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and volunteer their time to organize and manage the Foundation. We also have an advisory position held by a retired member.

A truly unique feature of our nonprofit organization is that 100% of our operational costs are funded by the firefighters of our Department. This is accomplished through a Payroll Deduction Program which is available for our members. For further information related to our operations and the functions of the Benevolent Foundation, please feel free to contact us.
